Complete Blood Count (CBC)

A complete blood count measures various components of blood including red blood cells, white blood cells, haemoglobin, and platelets. It provides important information about overall health and can help detect a variety of disorders.

Generally no special preparation required. Inform your doctor of any medications you are taking. In some cases fasting may be required — follow your doctor's instructions.

A small blood sample is drawn from a vein (usually in the arm). The sample is sent to a laboratory for analysis. Results are typically available within 24 hours.

No special aftercare needed. Apply gentle pressure to the collection site if there is any bleeding. Resume normal activities immediately.
